🪩 Canon 1Dx Mark Ii Shutter Replacement Cost
Unless you need the built like a tank and weather sealing of the 1dx II, I would buy the R5 or R6. The R5 will give you better weather sealing than the R6. I replaced my 1dx II with an R5 + 100-500 for wildlife and have no regrets based on 17 days shooting in YNP/GTNP. I rented an R6 as a backup for the R5 and used my 100-400 II with no issues.
Where did you buy the camera? If it was one of the big New York stores that everybody uses, maybe they could help you find the right person to talk to at Canon.
Does anyone know shutter replacement cost of R5 or R6 these days? I made a search and it used to be around $200-$300 many years ago, but there is no new information. I have a M6 Mark II. I used it a lot in high-speed mode, and the shutter failed in 2 years after around 200k shots. I have a third party warranty and they sent the camera to Canon.

The Canon 5D Mark II was originally announced in mid-September 2008 and then released in late November. Let's assume that the original owner of the 2.2M-shutter 5D Mark II purchased it on November 30. That's 5,045 days, meaning that to capture 2,269,757 snaps, the camera captured about 450 images per day.
I am so sorry. I should not have mentioned the 5DS on my listing. I was trying to get the information for the Canon 1DX Mark ii, not the Canon 5ds. as I don't own that camera anymore. The screen in the menu is exactly the same as my Canon 1DX Mark ii. Sorry for the confusion. Walter
The Sony A9 II, their latest and greatest, can only shoot 10 fps with a physical shutter, and 20 fps with the silent electronic shutter. The coming Canon 1DX Mark III will be able to shoot at 20
At first I got a $200 estimate, then they opened it up and it was $400. Then they started working on it then it was $600. There was no explanation as to how repairs end up in these $200 increments but they know you'll pay so don't bother asking. I've been doing further testing of my camera body and shutter. I noticed that I don't see the whilte bar across the top of the photo as slower shutter speeds, say 1/4 or slower. Possibly 1/8 or slower. And I don't see the wide white bar on the second, third, fourth, fifth photos, and on, after the f
Canon doesn't guarantee them for a certain number, it's simply an expected number. A shutter that's been replaced has the same chance of failing as the shutter that was originally in the camera. A replacement shutter that's done 40,000 frames has done the same amount of work as an original shutter that's done 40,000 frames
$92 is suspiciously low. I would guess that "estimate" will grow much larger once they get their hands on the camera. Are they an authorized Canon repair shop? You can verify that with Canon but if you are willing to sink money into an old model I would agree, send it to Canon.
